A letter for your son or daughter

A letter that opens the day they turn 18

They are an age today that will never come back, and you know things that, years from now, you'll wish you had told them in these exact words. Write them now: the letter is sealed today and opens on the day you choose — their 18th, their graduation, their wedding morning.

How it works

  1. You write it todayChoose the envelope, the wax seal, the paper and a commemorative stamp with this year on it. You can record your voice, add a photo from these days, and their song.
  2. It stays sealed until the day you chooseUp to 25 years ahead. Not sure which date it falls on? Enter their birth date and the age you want them to open it — 18, 21, 30 — and the letter works out the day.
  3. It arrives that day, at their hourBy email, with a private link, at their city's local time. They open it, the song plays, and there you are. That day you can both download it, and that copy is theirs forever.

Fair questions

Can I write it today and have it open in 15 years?
Yes. The opening date can be up to 25 years ahead. We don't promise further than that: we'd rather keep our word.
My child doesn't have an email address yet. Where do I send it?
Use your own: you receive it that day and hand it to them — many parents open it together. The recipient's email can also be corrected later, once they have their own.
Will they get to keep it?
Yes. The day it opens, the letter downloads in full: the PDF, your voice, the video and the photos. That copy is theirs, forever.
How much does it cost?
From $5.99, once. No subscription: a letter is paid for the day it's written and never costs anything again.
