A letter to someone who is gone

The letter you never got to say

There are things left unsaid when someone goes: a thank-you, an apology, or just telling them how we’re carrying on. Write them. This letter doesn’t travel to the person you lost — we can’t promise that — but you can choose the day it comes back to you, or to your family: the anniversary, their birthday, the day you need it most. A place to keep what you feel, and a way to return to them each year.

How it works

  1. You write what was left unsaidChoose the envelope, the paper and a quiet stamp. You can keep their photo, their song, and your voice reading to them inside.
  2. You choose the day it comes backTheir anniversary, their birthday, or any day you like — once, or each year, up to 25 years ahead. Until then it stays sealed.
  3. It arrives that day, at your hourTo your email, or your family’s, with a private link. You open it, their song plays, and for a moment you’re with them again. That day it downloads and stays, forever.

Fair questions

Does the letter reach the person who passed away?
No — that isn’t possible, and we won’t promise it. The letter comes back to you, or to your family, on the day you choose — a way to remember and to say what was left inside.
Can it open each year, on their anniversary?
You can schedule it for any day, up to 25 years ahead. Many people choose the anniversary or the birthday; you can also write a new one each year.
Who receives it?
The email you enter: your own, or a family member’s you’d like to share it with. Only whoever has the link can open it.
How much does it cost?
From $5.99, once. No subscription: it’s paid for the day it’s written and never costs anything again.
